“BEAUTIFUL LOVE” Album Lyrics

1. Beautiful Love
By Hannah Ford © 1993

You are searching for the perfect love to satisfy your soul
You’ve searched all over, but none yet to fulfill
And you hear of Jesus, how his love could set you free
But you shrug it off, thinking it could never be

But millions have been in your place
Millions have searched to find the truth
But searching ended,
When they met him face to face

Not a dead religion. Don’t need no superstition
It’s about a love that’s shared with the King of all Kings!

(Chorus)
Beautiful love. How could you walk away from Him?
Beautiful eyes. Staring deep into your soul
Beautiful hands. Can you see the scars where the nails drove in?
Beautiful sacrifice. His love will make you whole

You’re still searching, not willing to let Him in
But I’ll let you know, that you’re search will never end
Until the day when you seek His mighty face,
And humbly bow before His throne of grace

Don’t walk away, don’t walk away from His beautiful love

2. Trust
By Hannah Ford © 1996

Trust. Trust. Do you trust in me? Do you trust in me?
Hope. Hope. Do you hope in me? Do you hope in me?

Do you think you can do better?
Do you think that you know more about what’s right for your life?
Do you think I have a limit to my power and my love?—
Or maybe, I just haven’t been around long enough

(chorus)
Well you, better think hard. You better think long. You better think again–
Before, life slaps you straight into sin
Do you know what I’ve seen, you know where I’ve been? Do you know who I am?
Do you think you know? Do you think you know? Well let me tell you that you don’t

Life. Life. One life to live. Don’t you want to do it right?
Choice. Choice. Your choice to follow me or to go off on your own

(chorus 2)
Well you, better thind hard. You better think long. You better think again–
Don’t you know that I am, the King of everything?
Do you know what I’ve seen, you know where I’ve been? Do you know who I am?
Do you think you know? Do you think you know? Well let me tell you that you don’t

If you love me, won’t you follow me?
If you love me, won’t you trust in me?
Let go, love me, trust me
Let go, love me, trust me

3. Song for Steven
By Hannah Ford © 1994

God, why does he cry? Why does he gaze into the night?
Why does he say he’s content, apart from your light?
And God, why in his emptiness won’t he strive for something more?
His heart’s crying out, yet he fights the current drifting towards your shore

I look in his eyes and I know that he’s so precious
I wonder sometimes, “Doesn’t he know this?”
And I go home and cry, what else can I do?
But pray that he’ll someday come to know you

(chorus)
Because your love, is reaching out to him
I can hear the whisper in the wind
You call him to be free
Yes, your love is calling him by name
You’re inviting him to rest in your arms of grace and love

And God, why does he hide? Why does he hide behind a mask?
He pretends it’s all right, but deep inside he knows he’s so unfulfilled
And God, why does he run? What does he fear in knowing you?
Why does he build a wall against you, that only blinds him from the Truth?

And Lord, my prayer is that he’ll answer your call
That he’ll stop running and he’ll see you for who you are
And if I could, I’d tell him all you mean to me
But Lord, I know that only you can make him see

(Let him hear the whisper in the breeze…)

4. Psalm 40
By Hannah Ford © 1999

Would you attend to this pain in my heart
I won’t pretend that it’s not tearing me apart
And my tears as they fall down mix with breaths of hope and joy,
To think you’ll use this time of brokenness to lift me up a stronger one
To lift me up with a purer heart

(chorus)
And I will wait patiently for you, Lord
You turn and hear my heart’s cry
You lift me out of the mire
You set my feet upon the rock

And you put a new song in my heart
A hymn of praise to you, my God
Many people will see and fear,
And put their trust in you

Many, oh Lord, are the wonders you have done,
And the things you’ve planned for me, I trust, my words could never be sufficient
But my troubles without number still surrounding me
So many of them I can’t see. My heart is failing within me
Do not from me withhold your mercy

I desire to do your will, oh Lord
I will not keep my mouth silent
I will proclaim your righteousness
In this life. Even in this pain, be exalted!

5. Easter
By Hannah Ford © 1998

A world in existence in need of a savior. A world with a hope yet unfound
A God with an infinite love for the world, sent His Lamb to be slain, to release prisoners bound

And I can see this Lamb in the eye of my mind. He was beaten and bleeding and nailed to a cross
And this blood that was flowing out of His wounds, it flowed in power as He drew His last… breath

And they questioned…
Jesus, where are you?
Jesus, I thought you had come to save us
Where have they taken your body?
And how can it be you’re drawing near?
Hear your voice saying clear…

(Chorus)
Come forth, ye children of mine. I am risen! I am alive!
Throw off your grave clothes as I have mine. Come believe. Come and worship

Go forth, ye children of mine. I am risen! I am alive!
As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. Go in the power of my Spirit,
And let my light in you shine!

Now Jesus is standing right here before us. Our eyes may not see Him, but in faith we receive Him
And He calls us to be clothed in His light. He calls us to go to the harvest so ripe

Let us pray…
Jesus, draw near us
Jesus, your mighty blood has saved us
Fill us with your Holy Spirit

And now I feel you drawing near,
Hear your voice saying clear…

Jesus, draw near us. Jesus, your mighty blood has saved us. Fill us with your Holy Spirit.
And now I feel you drawing near. Hear your voice saying clear.

6. Too Good for me

By Hannah Ford © 2000

Once upon a time in my life I met a man
I saw something very special in his eyes I’d never seen
So with curiosity I sought to be a friend to him
But the letters ceased returning
And the friendship somehow ended

So let the sweet illusions fade away
Let the colorful pictures blend to a gray
While I’m left here wondering what he thought,
I stand here knowing what he’s lost

(Chorus)
Cuz he thinks he’s too good for me,
And I don’t really care anymore
About what he thinks that he deserves
And maybe what I’m not

Yeah, he thinks he’s too good for me
And I don’t really care anymore
I’ve better things to think about
I’ve got to be movin’ on

The weeks turned into months
The time went by so quickly
I resolved that I was over him,
But couldn’t hack the curiosity
What didn’t he like? What didn’t he see?
What would he have changed in me?
Found out my hair was just too lengthy
For the structure of my cheeks

I love my daddy and I love my Jesus. I love my brother and they love me
And I can only hope that I can find someone who loves me like they do
Find someone who loves me like they do

7. Psalm 42
By Hannah Ford © 1994
“Why Are You Cast Down?”

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God
When shall I stand and appear before God?
My tears have been my food day and night,
while they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”

As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So my soul pants for you, O God

(Chorus)
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
Why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, for the help
of His countenance
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
Why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, for the help
of His countenance

I will say to my God, my Rock; Have you forgotten me
Why do I go on mourning
As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach
They continue to say to me,
“Where is your God?”

8. Rain in the Desert
By Hannah Ford © 1994

I am a wanderer
Wandering in a far off desert
I’ve left my source of hope
I feel so alone
The sand burns my feet
My mouth swells up in deprivation
My soul is crying out for life

And I see some living water
Up in the heavens
I want to drink it
I want to be made whole
Pour down your living water
Pour it down into my soul
Pour down your life into these dry bones
And…

Chorus

Rain, in the desert of my soul
Rain, and make me whole
Rain in the desert of my soul
Won’t you, Holy Spirit come and take control
Holy Spirit come and make me whole

Yes, it’s true that I was lost
But now I know that I am found
But sometimes I still wander off and live on my own
Who am I kidding
Where am I getting
One more time in the empty desert where I began

Rain on me, Rain on me.  Holy Spirit, rain on me

9. Eyes of Compassion
By Hannah Ford © 1992

Lord the lifter of my head
You are the joy and the strength of my life
Lord the beauty beyond all description
Oh, you are the love of my life, I am yours

(Chorus 1)
Oh Jesus, I want to be closer to you
Oh Jesus, I want to rest in Your arms of love
Take me now, hold me close to you, never let me go
Take me now, show me your ways of love

Lord I want to spread your word
So others might know you the way that I do
I wish they could see your eyes of compassion
I wish they could see them, welling with love

(Chorus 2)
Oh Jesus, I want them to know who You are
Oh Jesus, I want them to rest in your arms of love
Take me now, use me boldly to bring them to You
Take me now, help me show them Your love

Oh I wish they could see your eyes of compassion,
Welling with love, reaching out

Hold me in your arms, and show me your ways of love

OJOS COMPASIVOS (“Eyes of Compassion” In Spanish)

By Hannah Ford 1992, with translation help provided by

Mauricio Lagos—my friend in El Salvador.

Senor, que levantas mi cabeza

Tu eres mi gozo y mi fortaleza

Senor, de belleza indescriptible

Oh, tu eres el amor de mi vida.  Soy tuya

(Coro 1)

Oh Cristo, quiero estar muy cerca de ti

Oh Cristo, quiero descansar en tus brazos de amor

Tomame, sostenme, no me dejes ir

Tomame, y ensename to forma de amar

Senor, quiero esparcir tu palabra

Asi otros puedan conocerte como Yo

Espero que pueden ver tus ojos compasivos

Espero puedan verlos, llenos de amor

(Coro 2)

Oh Cristo, quiero que conozcan quien eres

Oh Crist, quiero que descansen en tus brazos de amor

Tomame, usame para traerelos a ti

Tomame, ayudame a mostrarles tu amor

Oh espero que puedan ver tus ojos compasivos

Llenos de amor, alcanzandolos.

Sostenme en tus brazos, y ensename to forma de amar.

10. Cradle Me
By Hannah Ford © 1994

Cradle me. Hold me in your arms
Cradle me. Hold me in your arms
In your arms is where I want to be
Forever, to feel you next to me

(Chorus 1)
And as your little child, I know you’re always with me
And as your child, I know you love me dearly
But Lord this road isn’t easy and I need your arms as my safe haven
So rock me to sleep in your love
And breathe your life into my soul
Make me whole again

Hold my hand. Lead me by your side
Hold my hand. Lead me by your side
By your side is where I want to be
Forever, to know you’re next to me

(Chorus 2)
And as your little child, I know you’re always with me
And as your child, I know you love me dearly
But Lord, this road isn’t easy and I may forget that you are near me
So hold my hand ever so tightly, so tightly Jesus
Don’t let me wander from your path that set my spirit free

I don’t need to shed any more tears, thinking that you’re not near
I throw away my fear and believe that you indeed are here with me
And I ask again that you would…

Cradle me. Hold me in your arms
Cradle me. Hold me in your arms
In your arms is where I want to be
Forever, to know you’re next to me
Cradle me
