Merry Christmas!!!

I hope and pray that you all have a wonderful December! I uploaded my “Precious Child” song to YouTube so you can easily enjoy it and share it with your friends this Christmas season! I pray that this song is a blessing!!

Several years back, on a trip to Israel, I visited a cave that is believed to be one of the possible locations of Jesus’ birth. While I was there, I thought about what it would have been like if I were a shepherd the night the whole sky was suddenly filled with angels announcing Jesus’s birth. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:14) I hope that I would have been like the shepherds and the wise men who sought out this precious child to worship Him.

After visiting the cave, I held an evening concert at a coffee shop in Bethlehem. Singing mostly to Palestinians, and not sure of how my lyrics were coming across to those who understood English, I interrupted my set list and explained, “I want to be sure that you don’t think I’m trying to force Jesus on you. If anything, you are getting an inside look into the heart of a simple girl who loves Jesus and wants others to know His love, too.” I say this to you, as well. While the exact location and date of Jesus’ birth remains unknown, know that He loves you exactly where you are and exactly right now and forever. His mission of being born to die was so that He could cover you in His grace and bring you into ultimate and eternal freedom. I encourage you to CELEBRATE the amazing gift of love and to worship Him with your whole life! Happy Birthday Jesus!

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”

It’s a night divine, angels fill the sky
Singing glory in the highest, with one star shining brightest
For You’ve been born, a miracle of peace
I know this night was meant for me, and for eternity

As I see you lay in a humble bed of hay
I make room in my heart for You to stay

So reign on high, Precious Child
Beloved Son of God was born to die for me
I bow my knee and worship You, my King
Of all the gifts that I could lay before Your feet
I’m bringing me

Perfect and pure, you came to give us life
So tender and kind with love that fills your eyes
Gift from heaven, someday you will rise
On a cross, and then from death to free us for all time

As I see you lay in a humble bed of hay
I make room in my heart for You to stay

The wise will leave everything
To worship the King of Kings
To bring you gifts and to adore
So I’ll give my best to You, Lord
I’m bringing me

Thanksgiving and The Volcano Song

I hope your day “erupts” with joy and thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving!

A couple of weeks ago I was blessed to go visit my family and friends in Virginia. It was a great trip including beautiful horseback riding, lots of laughs, playing my 97 year old grandma’s keyboard and singing hymns with her, and good southern cooking by my aunt.

Two of my little friends that I love to see there reminded me of my volcano song. They know the song and hand motions so we decided to make a video and teach it to whoever wants to learn it. I wrote it while I was in the Philippines near a volcano. As requested by my Filipino friends, it was put on my Fervency album as a hidden track.

So what does this volcano song have to do with Thanksgiving? Nothing (haha!)- but in the context of this holiday, it reminds me that I want to “erupt” with thanksgiving for all of God’s blessings. Also, unlike dangerous lava, I hope to overflow with the goodness of God that blesses those around me.

No matter how hard life gets, I encourage you to stir up your faith and childlike joy and count the blessings that you are thankful for. The biggest blessing is that you are so very loved by God!!! So let’s all “erupt” with joy and thanksgiving to Him! KABOOM!!! God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Psalm 95:2-3
“Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.”

Election Day…

Drawing from a sweetie…

This sweet little girl handed me a drawing she made of me while I led worship tonight. And she put Jesus in a heart. She even knew where I plugged in my guitar. Precious!😊 Keith Fortenberry- great teaching tonight! We should never forget our need for God and His faithful provision in our lives! ❤#horizonparkchapel
