Yesterday…

Yesterday was funny. I spent 4 hours with Kindergarteners. They began talking about “true love” and about which of them wanted to marry each other. Ha! I think they’ve watched a lot of Disney. Then later I sang at the alzheimer’s facility and at the end, a woman wouldn’t give me my jingle instrument back that my grandmother gave to me. She tried to hide it under her blanket and resisted the worker trying to get it from her for 10 minutes, admitting that it wasn’t hers.  I’m not sure why all of this struck me so funny. Maybe because I thought about how at almost any age in the spectrum, people are people- everyone is warmed by the idea of true love, and at the same time everyone is confronted with their own selfishness. True love is selfless and perfectly given to us through Jesus.
